The M series is where most home studios start. M2 and M4 put ESS Sabre32 converters — the same family used in far more expensive interfaces — into a two- or four-input box with a genuinely useful full-colour LCD metering display. The M6 extends the same design to six inputs. If you are comparing an M2 against the usual two-in/two-out options, the converter spec is the honest reason to choose it.

UltraLite and 828. When the input count grows, the UltraLite mk5 and the 828 add ADAT expansion, DSP mixing and standalone operation, so the interface keeps working as a mixer without a computer attached. Both are built for studios that track more than two things at once.
